Dear valueed customers,
as you might have been aware, our datacenter had a power outage yesterday.
13.02 CET to 14:50 CET.
We wanted to write a short explanation on why this happened as those kind of events are not normally excepted..
The outage was caused by a big grid outage in the province Limburg of the Netherlands.

According to a Twitter Newsfeed from Enexis there was some fire in some high-voltage substation.
The fire department was on site to fix it. This is what basically caused power to go dark in the whole region.
Our datacenter has UPS/USV in place which covered the first 30min until everything shutdown.
There was not enough diesel generator capacity available to cover more as our datacenter keeps expanding.
They are however expanding the diesel generators by 2025 and are investing into more.
They have no big investors and invest step by step in
the datacenter. The risk for such big electricity interruption is very low, thats why
they renewed the air conditions this year and spent over 300k Euro for it.
Over the year there is always couple of small power outages, which are all covered from the UPS system.
Most of HostSlick's Racks where restored after power was back. (Arround 80/90%). However there was two switches in our network who suffered from the power being lost.
We have worked the whole day to make sure all services are restored and all are now.
We keep checking everything to make sure you will not have any more disruption or service restrictions.
If you still have services not running, please send us an Ticket. We will take care of it. Everything should be back up however.
Please excuse any inconvenience caused by this outage.
Thank you for your support!
HostSlick e. K.
