Dear Customers

We would like to inform you that the network issue affecting our Amsterdam connection, which began at 13:00 CET, has been fully resolved as of 18:12 CET today.

The root cause was a failure in one of the fiber repeaters in our datacenter's fiber path to AMSTERDAM, which spans over 300km. Our technician replaced the faulty module, and full connectivity has now been restored. As this is a longer fiber path there is 4 repeaters in between and one had made failure that wasnt able to restore the path.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused during this period and thank you for your patience while we worked to resolve the issue.

To further strengthen our infrastructure and prevent similar incidents in the future, HostSlick will soon book a dedicated wavelength (wave) to Frankfurt, where we plan will probably open a new Point of Presence (PoP) at Interxion using our own equipment. This strategic investment will provide increased redundancy and ensure greater reliability for our services.

We are also seeing significantly increased traffic demands in the coming months — in the range of 100G to 400G+. As we serve customers in the Video on Demand and Streaming sectors, maintaining maximum redundancy and uptime is absolutely essential. This growth enables and motivates us to further expand and harden our network with this secondary POP.

This incident has reinforced the importance of robust network design, and we are taking all necessary steps to improve resilience and service continuity.

Thank you for your continued trust in HostSlick.

Best regards,
HostSlick Support Team
